I guide you when needed, but I don’t expect everyone to know how to pose. My goal is to create photographs that feel natural and effortless while still being beautifully composed.
When Should You Book a Newborn Photographer?
I recommend contacting your newborn photographer during pregnancy to reserve your session.
Newborn sessions are generally photographed during the first few weeks after your baby arrives, this is when they are the sleepiest and will make our session time together more seamless. When you book, we can use your estimated due date to reserve a spot on my calendar and then choose the exact session date once your baby is born.
If your baby has already arrived, don’t worry…reach out anyway. I may still have availability depending on the date and I photograph older babies all the time still. There is no need to worry about missing a magical “newborn window.” Babies change quickly, but beautiful photographs can be created at different ages in different ways.
What Happens During a Newborn Session?
Your session is intentionally relaxed and fun.
There is time for feeding, diaper changes, rocking, soothing, and taking breaks. Babies set the pace, and we work around their needs rather than rushing through a list of poses.
I’ll provide gentle direction when needed, while leaving plenty of room for natural moments to happen.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose or worrying about whether your baby will cooperate.

What Should We Wear for Newborn Photos?
This is my most asked question….For timeless family photographs, I recommend clothing in soft, neutral and muted tones such as:

YES, absolutely!
While we’ll spend plenty of time photographing your new baby, I strongly encourage parents and siblings to participate.
Some of the photographs you’ll treasure most years from now may not be the perfect close-up of your baby’s face. They may be the photograph of your older child holding their new sibling, your baby’s tiny hand wrapped around your finger, or the way you looked at your newborn during those first few weeks.

What if my baby won’t sleep?
That’s completely fine. Newborns don’t have to sleep through their session. Awake photographs, feeding, cuddling, stretching, and other natural moments can all be beautiful.
