Maternity and Newborn photo packages in Thousand Oaks and all over Ventura County are such an awesome way to make sure you capture those fleeting moments right before baby arrives and when they are so itty bitty. I decided that I wanted to offer these packages because so many of my mamas were interested in booking both these sessions and I wanted it to be an easy and seamless booking process. The other major plus to booking a package versus an a la carte session is that I offer a little discount when you book the package-who doesn’t love a discount, right?!
Below is a beautiful package that I captured for this new mama and her family. Read more below on some tips when booking plus find more images from these beautiful sessions.
The only thing more life changing than actually having a baby is being pregnant and going through all of those wild changes. How crazy is it, when you think of how a woman can grow a human being in their belly-it really is such a remarkable time and one that absolutely deserves to be documented.
If this is your first pregnancy, these images hold such a beautiful memory, one that will never be the same again. It is such a crazy ride, full of so many emotions that it’s so important to capture these final images of just the two of you.
When Should I Take my Maternity Photos?
As far as when to capture that cute belly, it really depends a bit on a if it is your first or second + pregnancy, however the rule of thumb is about 26-34 weeks.
What you wear is also a huge factor in how your photos will look. This beautiful mama chose a great option, a soft blue flowy dress-perfect for her baby boy she was expecting. Flowy types of dresses seem to photograph the best. They are more comfortable, more forgiving and you can show a lot more movement in our photos which is always my goal throughout a session. Nothing Fits But and Pink Blush are great online boutiques to check out!
Now when it comes to newborn photos, the prime time is to take them within 3 weeks or less of when the baby arrives. This is because they are still super sleepy at this point, once they hit about 4 weeks they become a lot more alert. It’s crazy how fast this happens. However, if you don’t mind more alert photos and thats what you’re going for, then really there is no specific time-it’s totally up to you! I love both types of sessions and there is no right or wrong way.
My newborn sessions are created to capture this time with baby in a natural lifestyle way. I do not do super posed studio sessions, my goal is to make it feel organic and timeless. If you are living in a place that doesn’t have a lot of natural light or you feel like you aren’t in love with the inside of your home enough for photos, outdoor newborn sessions are totally a thing and they always turn out so gorgeous too! Check out this outdoor newborn session here!
Capturing these special moments are truly so important, you will never regret having these beautiful memories to look back on. I wanted to create maternity and newborn photo packages in Thousand Oaks so that you can book these amazing sessions but not worry about scheduling so many things-you have enough to worry about as a new mama. To see what is included in my packages check out more details here! I also have my a la carte options located there as well if that is what you prefer.
