Simi Valley is a gorgeous city located in Ventura County. It is known for it’s many amazing views of local mountains and hiking trails. It is also home to many families and soon to be families, like this beautiful family below I had the honor of capturing. This newborn session was so wonderful, I was able to capture their brand new baby girl and their 18 month old baby girl at their at home newborn session in Simi Valley.

Becoming a parent for the first or second time is such a life changing experience. Having 2 under 2 is definitely a crazy busy world you are stepping into and taking newborn photos can sometimes feel like a huge task. That is why I love for my sessions to feel effortless and calm. Having your session in home is great because you don’t have to try and rush somewhere with your new little bundle of joy but can get ready, feed baby and relax before your session (is relax even in your vocabulary anymore LOL?).

If you are unsure on when you should be booking your session, the earlier is the better so baby can be as sleepy as possible. After they turn about 4 weeks old they become so much more alert, it is kinda crazy how quickly that happens. Sometimes lighting isn’t as ideal at home. Whether that is because you live in a smaller place where there are less windows or just general poor lighting given the setup of your home.
